Service Description

Hi! My name is Micaela and I am an art teacher running art classes out of Dargaville, Northland. You may already know of me, or maybe this is the first time, in which case, feel free to have a look at my Facebook page or website. This pottery class includes: 8 classes. Beginning in the second week of term 6-8 projects Quality instruction and assistance in each of the steps All projects are returned to students once they have gone through the finishing processes. it would be 6-8 projects per term, $55 per child, all materials and costs included. All the kid would need to bring is themselves :) Details: I would travel to your school to give class during the school day, bringing all my materials with me and taking them away again after. The class would be around 45 min, including demonstration, making and tidy up. The class would be a maximum of 15 children , but if this class proves popular, I'll make a second one aswell. Pottery helps with a wide variety of skills, fine motor skills being a major one. The tactile experience of moulding, building and refining a clay creation is spell-binding. This class will also focus on learning through experience, or kinesthetic learning, where children are not only making a piece of art with their own two hands, but also learning how to overcome potential problems, persevere, and build their own confidence. To hold your very own creation in your hands when you last saw it as a soft pile of clay is an amazing self-esteem booster! Each project will be made by following certain steps, which encourages forward-thinking and listening skills Each student gets to learn the basics of hand-building and clay!
